To-do list

My sewing queue:
Butterick 6448 (vintage): I was excited to find this pattern on ebay - I ordered some navy wool gabardine from Fashion Fabrics Club for a fall dress and this pattern is exactly what I had in mind! The square neckline with the notch is a huge selling point for me; in general, it's just a lovely dress with a silhouette that works for my body type (love the 50s nipped-waists!). This will be the first vintage pattern I've actually sewn, so wish me luck!

Christmas aprons: I'm such the fighter against popular crafts (boo, watch bands!) and I've resisted the allure of apron-making thus far. However, when Joann's had a 5 patterns for $5 sale, I couldn't not get these cute apron patterns.I have fabric to do Christmas aprons for my mom, my sister, and me. I'm excited about the fabric I picked, too, because it fits each of our tastes: my sister got a bright candy-stripe red with green bias trim, my mom got a lovely "Santa toile" that is so very her style, and I found an awesome 50s-style print with illustrations of a city street during Christmas.

And finally . . .

It's beginning to look a lot like Halloween and I've decided this is the year I do the costume I've thought about doing for the past five years . . .And I even have the ruby red slippers to go with it!
